Have You Heard Of Bum Marketing?…
By Terrance Charles |
I’ve learned this technique a little while back, but you’ll be surprised on the type of results it can bring to your business, some of the top performing affiliates use this type of marketing to make sales and get ranked at the top of the search engines.
So what is bum marketing?…
Bum marketing is almost exactly as it sounds, it’s basically the method of using free advertising to convert sales, signups, subscribers etc, BUT, it’s how it’s used that makes it effective.
Now, I’m not talking about traffic exchanges, safelist, adblasters or anything like that, what I’m talking about is being on TOP of your game, let me explain.
You ever wonder how some of the top super affiliates bring in so many signups, or make so many sales. MOST of it has to do with the size of their list and the credibility they’ve built with them, BUT, there’s smart marketers that can become the top performing affiliate without a list, yep, without a list, and although you’ve been taught to build a list, that still holds true, but here’s how they do it.
It’s the form of using articles to promote whatever product or service, but you have to learn how to do it correctly, or it won’t work at all. You can drive a lot of traffic from just making reviews about a particular product or service, I know you’ve seen so many times, different reviews about marketers and products, for example “Review: The whole truth about x and x.
These type of reviews work, people are constantly looking for feedback before they buy a product or service, so after you dissected the product or service, creating a review about it, it will put it infront of a lot of people, regardless wether the review is good or bad. It works because your not selling, your just giving real feedback that will help others make decision, and the search engines love it.
Here’s where it really get’s profitable…
Let’s say a new product or service was just launched, and you are among the first to purchase or signup, and you get to fully evaluate what it’s all about. There’s other people that haven’t purchased or are looking for information before they purchase or signup, so creating a review while it has just launched will catapult you to the top of the search engine, especially when you use keywords in the review that has to do with the product or service.
For example, if the product is called “Butterfly Marketing” then you want to create a review titled “Review: The REAL Truth about Butterfly Marketing” and in it, you describe everything, advantages, disadvantages, how simple is it to use, your results and is it worth the price point etc. This is just a example, bolding the keywords will help your search engine ranking, you want to use atleast 3 keywords for each paragraph.
The newer it is, or the more popular it is, the better it will do. Now, after you’ve made your review, you can leave your affiliate link at the bottom so people reading can make they’re decision, if it’s a good review, then you can make a lot of affiliate sales, if it’s a bad review, you still can make a lot of affiliate sales, I DON’T exactly know why this happens, but either way people buy.
So just by creating a full descriptive article review about a product or service can drive a surge of traffic and sales to your website, and MOST importantly, take you to the top of the search engines for that particular keyword, this means that when someone searches for the product or service, they land on your review website first, and laying out a great review will build more trust with your visitors and result in sales.

I love the idea behind Butterfly Marketing. I haven’t come across this product before but never took it seriously. I didn’t really get it until I saw the demonstration of it in Butterfly Marketing. After reading this post i think i will take a closer look.

Hey Frank, thanks for commenting. You are right,
butterfly marketing is a big turning point for the
industry. In the form of creating membership sites
and the marketing offered you can’t put a price
on it, Mike Filsaime hit a home run with this, and
it’s definitely worth looking into.
