How To Direct 1000’s Using One Tactic…

By Terrance Charles |

Ok, I am going to get into the nitty gritty, so I hope you got your thinking cap on and ready to rock and roll because what I’m about to tell you, you may already know, but if you don’t, it will be the reason you drive a lot of laser targeted visitors to your website.

Before I reveal, it’s called Text link advertising…

Now, we all know as marketers that we need a constant flow of traffic to our site to keep our business running successful, our business is the engine, while traffic is the gas, and without it, no matter how good the engine, if their is no gas it’s useless.

So pay close attention as I show you how to tap into what I personally call “Piggy Back Traffic” and it works damn good, it’s responsible for 1000’s of visitors to my website every day. It isn’t always free, but I’m going to show you how you may do it for free, but you can expect an average of twenty dollars to one thousand dollars.

So how does it work, I’m excited…

It’s very simple to understand, but implementing is where you come in. Now, think about the search engine as a portal where a lot of people search for all different types of products, now imagine your website being number one for your keyword or target audience, I mean, come on, wouldn’t that be great!? Well, I am going to show you how it works.

Make sure that you are paying attention…

Now, when you go to the search engines and type in your keyword phrase that describes your business, you usually see the top websites and some of them are affiliate URL’s I don’t know how that happened, but some of them are regular content driven websites, and that’s where it get’s interesting.

This method will put you on the number one through number ten spot. Ok, let’s dive in. Since you already understand what I’ve just told you about searching for your keyword or phrase and seeing what kind of websites are there, then you’ll be ready for this.

I call it piggybacking on other peoples traffic, and I don’t care, but it works just fine for me and others that know this strategy. Here’s how it starts, you go to the search engine and search your business related phrases, if you are doing “cooking” search cooking and other related phrases, but let’s stick with internet marketing.

Once you have got this information, you have to evaluate it. The MAIN point is you want to find your specific keyword phrase and go after only the top ten sites, now you are going to either buy advertising on that site, or if they don’t have a advertising link, then you are going to contact the website owner and make a proposal.

Once you have planned out a great website, one tool I use is called alexa toolbar, you can get the download at alexa.com and to the right it will have the toolbar link, the main reason I use this is because it tells me more information about the website that I couldn’t get before because some websites don’t offer a contact link.

Let’s put it into work now…

As soon as you download that toolbar, it will display traffic rankings of the website, I recommend no less than one hundred thousand for the alexa rank, but if you want to find gems, go for atleast fifty thousand and lower, the lower it is the higher the traffic, some website may not have a ranking yet because it’s when the search engine does it’s update, but that doesn’t mean that they are not heavy traffic sites.

The key is to target heavy traffic sites that has your niche, your product or service similarity and purchase a text link ONLY advertising with them, ofcourse you can contact the website owner through email or phone, if you want to make a proposal, make sure it’s great.

Make sure that you state, you like their site and you want to know if there would be any possible space for a text link, because what you offer will benefit their visitors and doesn’t clash, and you can fill some of the white space on their website, you can even work out a special deal for pricing or something in return such as promotion or a two way linking, but make sure it’s ONLY on the frontpage where you get your text link placed.

Let me put this in example…

Let’s say I’m selling free marketing information such as a newsletter, who is my target market? Marketers right, any online entrepreneur that want’s to increase their business profitability.

So the first thing I would do is, go preferably to google and type in internet marketing tips, or internet marketing, or internet marketing consulting, or even internet marketing services, and this is just a example, as you can see I’m targeting it to my websites similarity.

Boom, I search through the top 10 links, maybe on the second of third link I find a great site, remember to try with different phrases to find your gem. Ok, let’s say the second or third link is a HOT one, then I will then check to see what the alexa ranking is and the feedback, but first of all, if they are in the search engines at top ten positions, you best believe they are getting good traffic.

So once I found the site I like, I go in for the kill, now I either look for the “advertise with us” link and If I find one, then I check the price, contact the website owner in a short email and express that I would like to advertise with them through the form of a text link, and a average estimate on what kind of traffic I can expect, it’s a keeper, buy in to the advertising, you can use a adtracker to see what kind of results you are getting.

When I am testing the waters, I usually just ask for a days test run to see how my website will perform, but some will, some won’t, but once you do the research, you will be able to tell what the website is about. If there is no “advertise with us” link, then you can use alexa to contact them, because usually it will have all their contact details, now you want to just ask, just make a proposal that you would like to advertise on their website and how much it would cost, and about how much estimated visitors they think their site will send you.

Once you have LOCKED your target, then you do what I just mentioned, move in for the kill, some will be expensive, some will be inexpensive, but if you know how your website conversion rate is, then you can basically tell as long as there is targeted traffic coming to your site, then there will be good conversions.

Depending on the site owner, and the method of contact, you may be able to work out a deal, such as a joint venture or just a linkback, this does work with affiliate URL’s too, that comes in when you buy a text link advertising deal, you can direct traffic to your affiliate website.

So let’s say you targeted a top ten ranking website…

Guess what, your website is now high up in the search engines, if you were able to get on the number one site, you have just piggybacked on someone elses traffic and all you did was contact them and expressed interest in advertising with them, regardless if it’s free, or regardless if it cost a little, I guarantee that traffic is going to be targeted to your website, and drive in a lot more customers and sales, increasing your bottom line, doesn’t that sound great!

It is, I have several websites that are sending me traffic now and all it took was either twenty dollars or five hundred to one thousand, it may sound like a lot and it is, but once you laser targeted your GEM, you can turn serious profits on the dime.

That is what I call piggyback traffic, you are riding the traffic of another website and all it took was just a email or phone explaining that you would be interested in advertising with them, in some cases, if it’s really a website that you want, and maybe you don’t get the answer you are looking for, you can ask to either publish a featured article or maybe give them a testimonial for their service.

You have to remember it’s NOT just what benefits you, but benefits them as a site owner too, what would it take for someone to advertise on your website, I mean for the RIGHT price and RIGHT amount of money, small or large, you can pinpoint your niche and end up number one or 10 in the search engines, how does that sound.

Put these methods into work and MAKE sure that you do the required research, if you just try to find one and do not investigate it, it will not bring you good results, so you want only the best of the best, that way you will get more traffic, and long-term too, while your making profits and able to keep up.

Alexa is a very important benchmark to determine the rankings and traffic of sites. Google is placed at the 2nd position as per Alexa rankings and traffic rankings and is facing tough competition from Live.com and of course Yahoo.
