I Can Digg It – Can You?…
By Terrance Charles |
Ahhh, traffic – traffic – traffic… The most amazing thing to any business. What if I told you that you can attract a tsunami of visitors to your website that will crash your server, and burn out your hit counter using free technology? Would you be interested in that? Ofcourse you would
– Here’s how it’s done…
The Age of Web 2.0 Technology Is Here…
Here’s how you go about this. The whole method of this is to get your website on the front of Digg.com. Ok, you might be saying easier said than done, I’m not saying it’s the easiest thing to do, but it’s free and it’s worth doing because the amount of traffic you get will blow your mind.
Go look at Digg.com and look at the top stories. You’ll see that they mainly cater to either technology, humor, or news right. But, that doesn’t mean that you can’t get your website on the frontpage of digg. Look at how the articles are structured, even the most rediculous articles get’s shine too…
For example: Here Are Some Titles/Topics That Is Popular…
- 23 Extra Ways To Improve Your Golf Swing
- How The 90% Rule Can Lead You To Happiness
- Baby Hurled From 3rd Floor Caught By Policeman
- What Has Webbed Feet, Quacks And Is Named Donald?
See what I’m saying. It’s not really about who is more popular than who. It’s anyones game with digg. Study the way these articles are written, that will let you know what people are more interested in, just look at the top stories to get an idea of what’s hot and what’s not.
You may be saying, I have a different niche… Well, every website is technical on the internet, so that will not affect anything at all, it all depends on what your story is about. The stories that doesn’t have to do more with being professional etc are the ones counting in the big votes. For example: “23 Ways To Make Your Spouse Happy” that’s not a actual title on digg, but just that alone can drive you to the frontpage, so I just gave you a gem there
It’s not rocket science… The technology curve is there, we are in the information age where we can share just about anything to anyone and get a lot of attention and respect from it, and especially in the internet marketing industry, that makes it a lot easier to do just that.
One more example: If you wrote a blog on computers… You can structure a title/topic like “The ONLY 10 Steps You Need To Keep Your PC Running New”… I can almost guarantee you that will cause some stir with digg and if it’s USEFUL vs GREAT information, people have no problem digging it, you just solved a problem for them.
Give it a TRY… If you aren’t using digg yet, you ought to be and if you are, take 30 minutes out to notice this trend on what is moving and shaking on the frontpage. I noticed that video has a lot to do with it too, and I can tell you it’s easy to rebrand videos from youtube or any other video sites and splash it with your URL, the sky’s the limit… Go Get Em
To The TOP,

Could you not just write good articles and wait for some one else to digg them?
I’ve been “dugg” with the opensource equivalent of digg and I didn’t do anything but write articles.

Hey Owen, Terrance here… That’s a method that
works for sure. If you have on your website or
blog a digg button next to your post etc, people
will digg it on their own if they like the content
you give them, this happens to me a lot.
I mainly like to step it up even further and most
of the times submit my own story and then let
other people digg it from there, that works great
too. Thanks

Great advice…I did not think of stepping outside my niche with the titles. I will put that to the test.
