Can You Just Stumble Upon Traffic?…

By Terrance Charles | New Here? Subscribe To Blog RSS...

This is every internet marketers dream right, to basically stumble upon or tap into some new type of traffic source. Our business survives on traffic and conversion, but if there’s no traffic there’s no conversion :-( but here’s how you can stumble upon traffic…

How Do You Stumble Upon Traffic?…

stumbleupon web traffic

It may sound basic and simple, but all in all it is. If you run a website or a blog, then you know that content is KING. Especially for blogging, here’s what I mean. If you are writing about topics that has some purpose but not a seeked after topic that people are looking for, it will reflect in your traffic.

How Do I Stumble Upon Traffic? Simple, I basically find problems and give a solution to that problem. When you do that you attract people that have that problem and they find the answer from you. When that happens, they recommend your website or blog to others, even bookmark you to popular social bookmarking sites and that’s where the fun begins.

Just the other day, one post that I wrote brought in 946 visitors in less than 48 hours and it all came from stumbleupon. Now, I did not know about stumbleupon to well, I thought it was just another social networking site out there, but I was wrong. Just this one site alone is still driving me 100’s of visitors daily to my blog.

Did I submit my content to this site? Not at all… Other readers and visitors to my blog did just that, and for a reason. They basically like the post that I am sharing with them, and because of that they bookmark my blog to these high traffic bookmarking sites giving it more exposure. And once that happens, it start to turn into never ending traffic because more people catch on and participate.

I did go ahead and signup for stumbleupon, because I know that it works, stumbleupon has sent me more traffic than most sources, and guess what… It’s free :-) The latest trend is in these web 2.0 social networking and social bookmarking sites, this is where bukku traffic comes from.

Is The Traffic From These Sites Targeted?…

I hear different opinons all the time on wether the traffic from these sites are targeted or not. In some cases the traffic may not be targeted, but here’s why it is in most cases. People searching for “don’t tase me bro” videos don’t end up on your website. People that are searching for your topic ends up on your website. The good thing is you can target it too in the categories, so you only get traffic that are interested in your content.

I have gotten signups, sales, leads and feedback from this type of traffic, so it does work. All in all, the best way to get traffic from these sites is to find problems and create a solution, you’ll be surprised at how quick it get’s passed around. There’s times I go into my statistics for my website and noticed that 800+ visitors just passed through my blog leaving a flood of comments, emails, sales etc.

The there’s the manual process, which I still use because it’s just as powerful. Whenever you finish posting to your blog, manually submit it yourself to these POPULAR bookmarking sites. The best 3 sites I have found to work the best is DIGG, STUMBLEUPON, and PLUGIM. Even if you create 10 post, 1 of those 10 will drive you traffic, so it’s very important to push your blog to it’s limit and get yourself out there infront of this new traffic trend.
