Respect Or Attention… Which Do You Prefer?

There’s something that came to mind that in internet marketing is a important factor to your success and there is many ways to go about it. If you stick with the current trends on what’s HOT or what’s NOT you’ll see that there’s couple factors involved too, especially with celebrities like Paris Hilton, Rhianna etc, and that’s Respect or Attention.

Which Do You Prefer, Resepect Or Attention? RT Plz ;)

attention Respect Or Attention... Which Do You Prefer?

You know, there’s nothing wrong with exposure at all, like it is said, all publicity is good publicity, which is not entirely true because not all publicity is good publicity, bad publicity can end your career for life and ruin your reputation for good.

Me personally, what do I prefer? I prefer respect over attention and here’s why I say this. When you have respect, you get attention, right!? It works in both ways. But, at the same time, when you have attention, you gain respect too, depending on what the attention is about.

You can be buzz worthy and have all the attention you ever wanted and still have no respect from other people, like I brought up earlier Paris Hilton get’s ALL the attention she wants, so does Rhianna and other celebs, Brittney Spears just to call out one more, but look at Brittney Spears, she is not getting the kind of respect she once had, just attention.

Why does this matter, in the internet marketing industry this is BIG too. It goes along with branding, credibility, percieved value and all. They are a lot of TOP experts out there, and although they get a TON of attention, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are getting a TON of respect, it only seems that way and then they are behind the scenes experts that get a TON of respect and not enough attention.

Donalad Trump to bring another name, he get’s alot of attention but a lot of people don’t respect him as much, they say he’s either too cocky or full of himself, which when your confident and successful it’s a part of the mindstate you have to have to stay afloat with all the bad and good publicity, but either way, atleast for Donald Trump, her still get the attention regardless if people respect him or not, funny isn’t it?

My question to you is which one would you prefer to have and why?

Would you rather have 100,000 people give you attention, or 10,000 people that respect you?

Don’t be shy leave a comment, and scroll back up to RT on Twitter, I know there will be some good insight on this…

I would have to agree that respect is more important because it goes a longer way than just momentary attention. A good name is better than anything in this world. You will have a ton of attention anyway if people respect you.

Respect is WAY more important that attention. Besides, when you have respect, you get better conversion ratios when it comes to promotions.

Good post, Mr. Charles! Keep em coming!

I would take the respect over the attention any day, Terrance. Once you have respect from people you will get all the attention you can handle, whereas just getting attention may not be for the best of reasons. Case in point, all the celebrities you listed that have attention for all the wrong reasons

Respect is far more important than attention alone. With respect will come attention. The attention that comes without respect will get a person nothing but trouble.

I’d much rather have respect. If people respect you, you can get things done faster, and call in favors. Attention doesn’t mean you get things done or improve. Respect is important for progress.

    R.E.S.P.E.C.T. ME!

I would much rather have 10k people respect me than 100,000k people give me attention. Which is why I’m so PRO relationship vs. numbers. Damn the numbers, I want the value.
